Very good! We deal with this negative attitude in our current congregation. When I have a chance to speak about Torah observance with Christian friends, I make sure to make the point:
1 you don’t have to follow Torah, in fact you shouldn’t follow Torah, if the only reason is because I do (or because I strong arm or guilt you into it)
2 you should also be sure you aren’t following Torah for sound Biblical reasons, and not just because “nobody else at church is”

Mike,

I absolutely agree with your sentiments. Justice, Mercy,
Faith are the weighty matters of the Torah!

Hebrew roots should deepen our Faith, and humble us as we recognize
how much Mercy we have been extended. After
which we should become bold for Justice, real biblical Justice, for the orphan,
the widow and the alien.

Pride still goes before a fall and we are all susceptible to
its pit.

Great piece, one of the best!

I want to weigh in on behalf of my people, Yes Gentile Christians
are my people and yes we are a mess. This is why I constantly say that We

Don’t miss understand, I love these people and so does God they simply need some good
leadership. We have taken the New Testament, set it on a pedestal and attempted to understand it apart from the foundational Hebrew Scriptures upon which it was built. Thus we have more splits, divisions and crazy Theo non-logic than one could every dream. We Christians only agree on one point among ourselves “Jesus is our leader”. Sadly most of us don’t think of him as a Jew or even consider that his Jewish Brothers could help us
understand how he would guide our lives. We come up with all kinds of theories
(like the one you just posted).

What we dearly need is for Messianic Judaism to stand up and lead. Show us who Yeshua
is, explain him in the appointed times of Leviticus 23. Show Torah as the lighted path (Psalms 119) that gives rest for your souls (Jeremiah 6). And invite my people to be grafted in, all the while insisting that the root remain Jewish. Demonstrating clearly that the life giving sap is Jewish!

I am clearly in the camp of which you speak.
Here is how I see it. When God says to Ephraim through Hosea “You are not my people and I am not your God” Hosea 1:9
They be come persona Non grata, without diplomatic standing
Lost, Gone, Gentile.

Their only way back is attaching to the remaining part of Israel which has been “shown mercy” Hosea 1:7 “Judah”

In Genesis 48 Jacob gave the double portion to Joseph and the right hand of blessing to Ephraim promising them large numbers and wealth.

But in Genesis 49 Jacob gave leadership of Israel to Judah.

Thus he created a humanly impossible situation, wealth and numbers (Ephraim) lead by spiritual wisdom (Judah). This can
only happen by the Spirit of God

Yeshua is the Lion of Judah. He showed the way.

Messianic Judaism will not be joining the very Ephraim like Christian Church ever! But in time the Wealth and Numbers of Ephraim in tears and repentance will be joining Messianic Judaism.

Please tell Messianic Judaism to select young leaders and begin to ask Christians for money to train them.
We are going to need them.

And how do I know its only one law?

Act 15:21 For Moses from ancient generations has in every
city those who preach him since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath

This is James reason for his gracious direction for Gentiles
returning to David’s Tent!

if he had a different law in mind for Gentiles he would have said so in Acts 15

Two houses, one without diplomatic status returning in repentance to his Father and his Brother, willing to live under one law, the Torah of Moses

That’s how I see it.
